At E. Saunders Electrical Contractors Ltd. we are proud of the work that we have done and we are delighted to be able to let you know about some of these projects here.
General Domestic Work
We have been carrying out minor and major domestic work for local customers successfully for the past 90 years and we have some local customers who have been using our services for almost as long.
The work we carry out ranges from full and part rewiring, to extensions, mains changes, lighting design, control and installation, external works, 240V domestic fire alarm installations along with minor maintenance works such as additional sockets, lighting, and even renewal of lamps for those who arent happy up a pair of steps themselves.
We also have a commitment to energy efficiency and can give a wide range of advice and recommendations to our customers.
Minor Commercial Works
Quorum Fascia Lighting
We designed and installed the external lighting for this modern financial 'one-stop-shop' situated in High Street, Broadstairs.
The modern low energy lighting is set to operate on a time clock really emphasising the shops character at night, and giving people something to look twice at.
The Mortgage Shop South East
We designed and carried out the total rewire, electrical and fire alarm installation within this 3-storey mortgage and financial advice shop in Broadstairs High Street in 2007/8.
Again the installation has been designed to the clients needs, offering energy efficiency, whilst giving the building a modern and bright feel.
The Royal Albion Hotel
In 2003 we carried out a rewire within the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor bedrooms, famous Broadstairs 'flagship' hotel, built in 1760.
The works were carried out whist the hotel was running in and efficient and sympathetic manner.
Design 29
In 2004 we carried out the design and installation within the jewellers Design 29, on the Westwood shopping centre in Margate.
This is a modern and fashionably designed shop with display lighting to suit.
F. Hinds Jewellers (Shopfitting)
Throughout the UK, we look after the oldest and largest family run jewellers F. Hinds. This includes maintenance and fire alarm works, along with full shop fit-outs.
Many of these shops are refitted or fitted to a very tight time constraint all of which we adhere to without loosing any quality of installation or finish.
Other Projects
Salmestone School: New Dinning Facilities Value: ~ £65,000.
Main Contractor: W.W. Martin (Thanet) Ltd. Works included the electrical work and fire alarm works within a new school dinning facility.
The project included complex control wiring, energy efficient dimmable lighting systems, and interfacing multiple fire alarm systems. Completed Feb/March 09.
Kent Schools Priced Electrical Maintenance KCC Value: over £50,000 (and ongoing)
Main Contractor: E. Saunders Ltd, via KCC and NPS Property Consultants. Works included ongoing upgrading of schools mains and existing systems following periodic electrical testing. Each job is separately priced and the works carried out over holiday periods. Ongoing from July 08.
Sir Roger Manwood's School: Boarding Facilities Fire Alarm Value: £50,000.
Main Contractor: E. Saunders Ltd, via KCC and NPS Property Consultants. Works included ongoing upgrading of the boarding house fire alarm system. This includes installing and commissioning a new wireless system. Completed Feb 09.
55 57, Tontine Street Folkestone: New Accommodation, Shops and Studios Value: £60,000
Main Contractor: W.W. Martins. Works included the electrical, fire alarm and data wiring installations for a new ground floor shop, 1st and 2nd floor studios and top floor flats for the Creative Foundation in Folkestone. Completed Sept/Oct 08.
Thanet District Council: Office Refurbishment Value: £110,000
Main Contractor: D. J. Ellis Ltd. Works include the phased refurbishment of the local council offices over this year and the next. Including energy efficient lighting, fire alarm and disconnections of all systems whilst keeping areas running. Ongoing.
Newington Children's Centre: Surestart Value: £65,000
Main Contractor: W.W. Martin (Thanet) Ltd. Works: All electrical, fire alarm etc within a new childrens centre to the new Surestart requirements. Completed Nov 07.
Chatham House School: New Fire Alarm Value: £70,000
Main Contractor: E. Saunders Ltd, via KCC and NPS Property Consultants. Works included ongoing upgrading of the entire fire alarm system. This includes installing and commissioning a new wireless system. Completed April 08.
Martony Court: 36No New Flat Value: £200,000
Main Contractor: W.W. Martins (Thanet) Ltd. Works: 36No new flats in Margate, Kent, all electrical, fire alarm etc. Completed Dec 07.
Newington School Nursery and Foundation Classroom Value: £75,000
Main Contractor: W.W. Martin (Thanet) Ltd. Works: All electrical, fire alarm etc within a new nursery and 4No new classrooms. Completed Nov 07.
Cancer Care: Q.E.Q.M Value: £120,000
Main Contractor: Cardy Construction Ltd. Works: The full electrical and fire alarm installation within the new Cancer Care facility in the Q.E.Q.M hospital in Margate. Again complex controls energy efficient lighting and interfacing with the hospital. Completed Aug 07.
Other Large Projects - over £100,000
Bethesda Medical Centre Value : £120,000.
Main Contractor: Jenner (Contractors) Ltd. Works: New build of a medical centre in Palmbay Avenue, Margate with surgery, conference facilities and integral pharmacy. Completed Jan 04.
Christian Arc Centre Value: £110,000.
Main Contractor: Cardy Construction Ltd. Works: This was an extension and new build of a church, auditorium and community centre with conference facilities in Tower Hamlets, Dover. Completed August 03.
South Kent College, Folkestone Value: £165,000.
Main Contractor: Barwick. Works: Consisted of a refurbishment of refectory area and training kitchen, along with a new Visitors centre and construction training block. Completed Dec 02.
Royal British Legion, Broadstairs Value: £230,000.
Main Contractor: Barwick. Works: The complete refurbishment and extension to Maurice House, R.B.L in Broadstairs. Completed in Oct 02.
